CFW's nightly runway shows for top designers & models

Less than two weeks away from the start of the sixth annual Charleston Fashion Week, the Southeast is abuzz with anticipation for the premier fashion event and many are wondering what new stylish surprises await them under the tents this spring. While the official runway schedule includes more than 45 runway shows, films, music, and pre-parties, the 2012 event also promises to bring star power to Marion Square.
Along with the top emerging and featured designers in the country, the red carpet will showcase housewives, top models, and a few up-and-coming NBC reality design stars.
Organizers of the March 20-24 fashion fete now confirm that in conjunction with runway shows, designer competitions, and the Charleston Weddings Spring Bridal Show, Presented by Gathering Floral + Design, the five-night event will feature a collaborative runway show with competing designers Luciana Scarabello, Sarah Parrott and Nikki Poulos from NBC's new alternative series “Fashion Star” on Thursday, March 22. The fashion inspired series that debuts on March 13 at 9:30pm will include the 2011 Charleston Fashion Week Emerging Designer and southeast native Sarah Parrott.
Other celebrated Featured Designers showing their collections during the week include Emily Bargeron, Rachel Gordon, Mychael Knight, Michael Wiernicki and CFDA's “Emerging Designer Award Winner” Chris Benz, ELLE 2011 Fashion Next Award recipient Faith Thornburg, and 2011 CFW Emerging Designer Competition Winner Charlotte Hess.
In addition to the nightly runway shows, style will thrive under the tents during the daytime in Pop-Up Shop, presented by Tanger Outlets. Open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m, Tuesday -Friday, the shops will feature clothing, official CFW merchandise, hair & make-up design, lectures, book signings, and more.
Perhaps the most notable, yet underrated perk of Charleston Fashion Week is the engaging social setting. Attendees can mingle with Charleston's style elite during the pre-event Fashion Plate dinners throughout the city, in the chic Style Lounge, presented by The Shops at Charleston Place, during the event, and at any of the official after parties.
As if all this wasn't enough excitement, live music will accompany shows throughout the week, fashion films will inspire, signature cocktails will be served, and photographs of guests will be taken nightly on the red carpet!
So head to the tents this Spring to witness the next big fashion and modeling stars in the making, catch a glimpse of a few “Housewives” and “Top Models” making surprise visits throughout the week, and check out what area boutiques are trending for this Spring.
