Home textiles professionals to meet at EVTEKS in May

EVTEKS 2012 - 18th Istanbul Home Textiles Exhibition, second biggest fair in the world in its field, will be attended by more than 1.000 firms. Turkish home textiles industry, that has the export target of 10 billion USD for 2023, will display its power at the fair once again.

EVTEKS is about to break a record with the number of its exhibitors and visitors. It will be organized in 11 halls spanning over an area of 160.000 sqm. 100.000 local and foreign visitors are expected this year. With the number of exhibitors and visitors increasing every year, EVTEKS is moving fast towards becoming the largest trade event of the industry in the world. More than 1,000 exhibitors will be in the fair including local and international pioneers such as Verdi, Brillant, Demor, Linens, Taç, Ter Molst International (Belgium), Guy Laroche (Greece), ANTECUIR (Spain), Tissage De Kalken (Belgium), Thevenon (France) and Casa Valentino (Italy).

A special section for design studios will be organized at EVTEKS 2012. Worldwide known design studios from Italy, England, Sweden, France, Holland and Germany will participate at the Design Area of EVTEKS. Saudemont Designs, Art Cottage, Wish List, Bjorkforth are among the design studios participating at EVTEKS 2012.

Country pavilions will be organized from Belgium, Italy, India and Spain. 29 companies from the Spanish ATEVAL (Association of Textile Companies of the Valencian Community) and more than 20 Italian companies will attend the fair. The Belgian Ter Molst International will attend the fair for the first time. The exhibiting foreign countries of EVTEKS 2012 are USA, France, UK, Germany, Greece, Pakistan, Syria, Iran, the Netherlands, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Austria, Lebanon, Spain, Italy, Belgium and Moldova.

Numerous purchasing groups will visit EVTEKS which receives huge interest every year in the sector. Some of the countries that are expected to send purchasers to the fair are as follows: USA, Germany, Belgium, UAE, Czech Republic, South Africa, UK, Spain, Israel, Sweden, Switzerland, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Poland, Russia, Slovenia and Oman.

Turkish companies that are well known for their success in home textile also show huge interest in the fair. The number of exhibiting companies from Denizli, one of the most important cities for Turkish home textiles, has risen more than 15% compared to last edition.

Trend Area will be organized by UTIB at EVTEKS to set the trends for fashion in home textile for the upcoming year. Trends will be displayed within a concept designed by worldwide known trendsetter, Inkrit Berbee. Concept and trend designer Inkrit Berbee studied fashion and textiles in Amsterdam and is director of Lobster Concepts.
