There are just few days left for designers to submit their entries to Fashion Fringe 2012 and be in with a chance of showing at London Fashion Week and winning a prize worth in excess of £100,000.00. Fashion Fringe, one of the leading platforms supporting emerging fashion talent in the UK, closes for entries on the 27th of April.

A shortlist of 10 designers will be selected by Chair Christopher Bailey, Chief Creative Officer at Burberry, on the 3rd of May. The Selected Semi-Finalists will then undergo a Technical Day and Board Interview before three finalists are announced on the 22nd of May. The final three will then be given a budget and studio to create their collections, which will be shown on schedule at London Fashion Week in September. An overall Winner will be selected at the show by Christopher Bailey himself. They will gain a two year development package, which includes a mixture of funding, business advice, mentoring and an equipped studio at Somerset House, to set up and sustain their business.

Talking about the platform Christopher Bailey said: “Fashion Fringe provides a wonderful platform to develop emerging creative talent and I am very proud to be partnering with them to unearth the next generation of exciting designers.”

Colin McDowell, Founder and Creative Director of Fashion Fringe, said “Talking with a very senior designer a few weeks ago I was delighted to hear him say that the Fashion Fringe platform was such an amazing jumping off point for talent he felt sure his success would have come quicker – if he had won! I can think of no higher praise and I look forward to seeing what exciting talents this year will bring to the lucky finalists who will be mentored by Christopher Bailey – London's undoubted world-class leading designer who is our chair for the next two years. “

Now in its ninth year, Fashion Fringe has helped launch many successful names into the fashion industry including Basso & Brooke (2004), Erdem (2005), Corrie Nielsen (2010) and most recently duo FYODOR GOLAN who showcased their first collection in London Fashion Week A/W 2012 to much critical acclaim.

Entrants must be 21 or over and have access to a two year UK working visa, but do not need any formal fashion qualifications to take part. The closing date for applications is 5pm on Friday 27th April.

Fashion Fringe, was set up by Colin McDowell in 2003 in conjunction with IMG Fashion. It is committed to enabling emerging talented designers to launch, promote and sustain their label and business in London.
