The prices of foreign cotton which already has cleared China's Customs, basically maintained flat during April 20-22, as they did not follow the fluctuations in ICE futures.
Among all cotton exporting countries, cotton imported from Pakistan was quoted the lowest, followed by India, US and Australia in that order at Qingdao Port.
Cotton imported from Pakistan of micronaire 1-5/32” was quoted at 17,300-17,400 Yuan / ton, while Indian cotton of the same micronaire was quoted at 18,000 Yuan / ton.
Cotton shipped from the US of the same micronaire was quoted at 20,200 Yuan / ton and that from Australia was at 20,300 Yuan / ton.
A few cotton importers had small quantities of imported cotton left, which were of low micronaire value or mainly short fiber with more impurities.
