900 global players to discuss future of fashion

Copenhagen will be the centre of attention on May 3rd, when the most powerful people and brands of the fashion industry, high-level politicians and the UN are gathered at Copenhagen Fashion Summit 2012 to discuss sustainable fashion.

900 international key industry players gather at Copenhagen Fashion Summit 2012 on May 3rd to discuss the future of fashion. Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mary of Denmark, Patroness of the Copenhagen Fashion Summit, will launch the event with an opening speech.

At The Copenhagen Opera House the internationally renowned actress, Connie Nielsen, alongside Ballet Master, Nikolaj Hübbe, will be hosting the event, with a wide range of prominent keynotes sharing their insights on the future of a successful sustainable fashion industry.

Among the speakers are: Rossella Ravagli, GUCCI; Helena Helmersson, H&M; Rick Ridgeway, Patagonia and Sustainable Apparel Coalition; Holly Dublin, PPR and Bruno Pieters, Honest By.

Rossella Ravagli from GUCCI states that: “The fashion industry has the potential to become one of the innovators in solving the climate changes and social issues globally. Gathering key industry players at Copenhagen Fashion Summit is an important step in the right direction. It's important to push for a sustainable agenda as an industry and Gucci - which not only is a luxury fashion leader, but the most responsible player in its sector as well, paying since the beginning a sincere attention towards people and environment, enhancing a sustainability value across all of its operations - is happy to take the helm of this process.”

Alongside the fashion industry, high-level politicians will share their perspectives on sustainable fashion. Participants are: Connie Hedegaard, European Commissioner for Climate Action and Ole Sohn, Danish Minister for Economics and Growth.

Copenhagen Fashion Summit is the world's largest and most important conference on sustainability and CSR in the fashion industry.
