Chinese yarn imports down, exports up in Jan-March

China's yarn import volume rose while yarn exports fell in the first three months of the current year.
Yarn exports reached 759,000 tons, down 13.1 percent year on year; while value marked US $2.71 billion, down 15.3 percent. Average export price was $3.57 / kg, down 2.54 percent year on year.
Import volume achieved 478,000 tons, an increase of 13.4 percent. Import value stood at $1.68 billion, up 2.8 percent from a year earlier.
In the month of March, yarn exports reached 305,500 tons, down 15.9 percent year on year, but up 34.3 percent from its previous month.
Export value scored $1.13 billion, down 19.4 percent year on year, but a growth of 44.8 percent from the previous month. Export unit price touched $3.71 / kg, down 4.1 percent year on year.
