New concept for trade fair meets broad acceptance

The new Performance Days concept, as a trade fair for functional fabrics now located permanently in the international center of Munich, Germany, was a success for exhibitors and visitors. Compared to the event held at the Munich venue last year, this fair attracted 14% more visitors.

The experts who visited the fair appreciated the top quality professional speakers, the Performance Forum with its redesigned Performance Gate, and, of course, the innovative individual exhibits. The amount of positive feedback demanded an expansion: The November Trade Show will be extended from two to three days!

For the first time at its permanent location in Munich, Performance Days even after eight iterations still presented itself as being a relatively young and dynamic trade fair. This is the earliest possible time to present the "Best Performance" for Summer 2014, i.e., the latest functional fabrics for sport and work. In the usual professional way, the MTC venue was organized for efficient work in a relaxing environment just at the right time to merge with the development cycle of the collections.

The trade fair was a complete success. Event organizer Marco Weichert expressed his personal satisfaction: "Our new concept to organize as a permanent exhibition was right on the mark, as proven by the increase in the number of visitors and the variety of nations represented. In addition to Germany, we were pleased to welcome interested guests from 29 different countries. Munich is fully accepted as a top center for international trade fairs. 44% of the visitors came from other countries."

The visitor analysis showed that professionals even traveled to Munich from the USA and Canada, in addition to all the European and Scandinavian countries, the former East Block, and Asia. Overall, visitors came from 30 countries, which is a substantial increase from the last November trade show when we welcomed visitors from 21 countries.

The MTC location in Munich, which we established last year, once again demonstrated its professionalism and received high praise from the visitors. The generous dimensions of the booths offered enough room for concentrated business and the bright friendly lounge area next to the Performance Forum was perfect for interesting discussions as well as for short breaks, and our new catering service with Italian delicacies was very well received. Another popular stop was the new Coffee Lounge with free coffee, prosecco, and soft drinks, which we were able to implement with the generous support of sponsors.

The Performance Forum was brilliantly designed with its informative table set on high quality Astroturf that accented the products very well.

The new design of the Performance Gate also attracted a lot of attention and invited visitors to linger and walk through it. We presented the winner of this show's Performance Award in the center area. The prize was awarded to the Italian producer La Fonte, which had everyone talking about the innovative foam developed for bicycle seat pads.
