Strong synergy brings more prospects at F&A Show/HOMTEX

Said Ms Daisy Mistri, COO - Marketing and Sourcing, Gokaldas Exports Ltd, Bangalore, was quite happy she could idetify new vendors at the show. “I was also happy to see that we have people making some good linen. It was very interesting and I wish there weremore exhibitors at the show. This is a very well done show.”

Mr Raj David, Managing Director, Texus Group, Sri Lanka, who has been flying down to Bangalore the last three years in a row for the show: “Every year, I have been able to find new companies at the show from where we have been able to source our requirements. This year too, I found a few interesting companies and placed an order right away with one of the manufacturers and am working out details with another. The company sources half a million dollar worth of fabrics from India each year. They source around 75 percent of their requirement from China at the moment and in future wants to source at least 50 percent of their needs from India.”

Mr B J Park, President, Han Indo Consultancy Pvt Ltd, South Korea was happy about the quality of the vendors at the show. He said, “I’ve made a few positive contacts and will be following up with them very soon.”

Ms Lucienne Koofli, Architect, Ateliee Lak, Baden, a visitor who had come in from Switzerland, said: “I’m into home textiles and I could identify a good source for floor coverings from Kerala.”

Exhibitors too were upbeat.  Mr Eberhard Ganns, Managing Director, Union Knopf (HK) Ltd, Hong Kong, noted, “We were able to meet a number of top quality buyers. We were also able to get an understanding of the market and now have an idea of what areas need to be worked on.”

Mr Sanjay Rathore, Vice President, Siyaram Silk Mills Ltd., Mumbai, said, "The show had a good response. We were able to get the kind of visitors we were expecting and moreover we were able to meet a lot of our regular customers. This gave us the opportunity to introduce our new cotton linen range to this market."

Mr K. R. Nalluswamy, Managing Director, Orange Impex, Karur, noted, "We were able to generate positive business leads and we feel a majority will be converted into firm business. We had visitors from countries like USA, Europe, UAE and Sri Lanka."

For Mr Manjit Singh Saini, CEO and ED, Paramount Instruments Pvt. Ltd., this show was a rewarding experience. “The footfalls were brisk and we are extremely happy from a business perspective. At least 40 to 50 percent of those who came to our stall should convert into real business, he added.”
