Chinese textile machinery imports plunge in Jan-Mar

From January to March 2012, China imported textile machinery from 46 countries and regions; import value amounted to US $1.095 billion, down 18.52 percent year on year.

From categories of imported products, China's imports of spinning machinery ranked the first place. Imports of spinning machinery amounted to $192 million, an increase of 9.01 percent year on year.

From January to March 2012, major countries and regions of China's textile machinery imports were Germany, Japan, Italy, China, Taiwan and Switzerland.

Total import value of these five countries reached $935 million, down 16.14 percent year on year, accounting for 85.36 percent of total imports.

Imports from Germany ranked at first place with $376 million, down 8.11 percent year on year, of which, imports of knitting machinery was $138 million, down 17.03 percent year on year.
