Vietnamese textile sector seeks Chinese cooperation

This was discussed between delegates of both the countries at the recently concluded ITMA Asia in China.

A Vietnamese delegation led by Chairman of the Vietnam Textile Association met the President and other members of the China Textile Industry Association.

They reached a preliminary consensus on cooperation between Chinese textile industry and Vietnam textile industry.

The head of the Vietnamese delegation said everyone from the delegation is focusing on China's textile machinery and equipment and the progress made by the sector.

At present, Vietnam is in consultation with the US over Pan-Pacific Partnership Cooperation Agreement (TPP).

Vietnamese exports of textile and garment to the US will enjoy zero tariffs, once the agreement is signed and expects exports to zoom.

Vietnam hopes to strengthen cooperation with China's textile industry in the future, especially in weaving, dyeing and finishing sectors.

It also welcomed Chinese enterprises to invest and build factories in Vietnam, in order to establish a win-win reciprocal relationship.

The Vietnamese delegation invited their Chinese counterparts to partake in the International Textile Alliance Conference to be held in Vietnam in November this year.
