Pitti Immagine Filati to start from July 4

From 4 to 7 July 2012, the Stazione Leopolda in Florence will host Vintage Selection, the fair-event dedicated to vintage clothing, accessories and design objects held concomitantly with Pitti Filati 71.

Call it a research lab with eyes on fashions of the past, or call it a vast archive where today’s designers find inspiration for their new collections, and this, the 20th edition of VS will offer even more for exhibitors and visitors alike. This season’s theme Casual Gamers, is about sports that everyone can - and will - enjoy even if just for a few days.

The Leopolda forecourt will be transformed into a “seaside pavilion” (Leopolda Beach) with sports for all!.

The exhibition, I.Love.Archive2 will focus on Summer Gamers: through photographs found in the Pitti archives the exhibit will feature the summery side of yesterday’s fashions. And there will be real games: bicycle races, special events – with prizes – such as Tag-Automatica, concerts and evenings for dancing – a real festival of vintage culture with surprises, entertainment and lots of shopping.

Starting from this edition, the online fair will also be available at Pitti Filati

After the success of January’s pilot version that enjoyed the participation of some of Italy’s leading yarn manufacturers, e.pitti.com will produced the first online edition of Pitti Filati, involving all the vendors at this 71st edition.

The results of January’s trial run are were positive and encouraging: 1,700 hits, 4,000 pages viewed by buyers from Italia, Germany, Great Britain, United States, Hong Kong, Holland, Japan, Spain, France and Turkey.

Developed as a service for all Pitti Immagine certified buyers, e-Pitti.com makes it possible to experience the fair online for a month after the show closes: buyers can go back to the stands, and discover new brands and trends for the coming season.

The fairs will also be flanked by online showrooms where buyers can start – and conclude – business with the e-Pitti.com vendors. The online version of Pitti Filati will also be available in Japanese.
