Chinese PTA spot market in wait-and-watch mode

The spot market for purified terephthalic acid (PTA) in China seemed to be under wait-and-watch condition and actual turnover was light on July 23.
In East China, offers in PTA spot market were about 7650 Yuan/ton, counteroffers from downstream buyers were around 7500 Yuan/ton, and negotiated price was estimated to be around 7600 Yuan/ton.
The price of Taiwan produced PTA was quoted around US$ 1,015/ton, counteroffers were for US$ 1,000/ton, and negotiated price was estimated at US$ 1,005/ton.
Offers for Korea produced cargo were about US$ 1,000/ton, downstream bids were around US$ 990/ton, and negotiated price was estimated at about US$ 990/ton. However, no firm orders were negotiated.
