China's PTA import volume declines in June

The volume of Purified Terephthalic Acid (PTA) imported by China in June 2012 declined compared to both May 2012 and June 2011, according to customs statistics.
In June, China imported 366,800 tons of PTA, which is a decrease of 127,000 tons from the volume imported in the same month last year.
In May 2012, China imported 385,900 tons of PTA and thus its June imports fell by 19,100 tons.
During the month, the average PTA import price was US$ 1,039/ton, down 9.94 percent form the average price in May this year and 14.22 percent from the corresponding month of 2012.
