Tempur-Pedic opens first flagship store in greater Boston

Tempur-Pedic International Inc. the leading manufacturer, marketer and distributor of premium mattresses and pillows worldwide, announced that its premiere retail store — the very first of its kind — is now open. Conceived to immerse consumers in the brand experience in a way not possible before, this first Tempur-Pedic flagship store invites shoppers to explore the full product line in one place, at their own pace, to discover first hand why Tempur-Pedic owners love their beds.

Now open in the greater Boston area, the new Tempur-Pedic store occupies 3,500 square feet of retail space at the Natick Mall, in Natick, Massachusetts.

"Tempur-Pedic has always had a strong focus on establishing a dialog and engaging directly with the consumer," said Patrice Varni, Vice President, direct-to-consumer sales and marketing for Tempur-Pedic North America. "The opening of our first store is a logical next step. We're excited to bring our products to life in a retail environment designed to provide product education, build consumer awareness and enhance brand loyalty."

Founded in 1992, Tempur-Pedic pioneered a new way to sleep with its proprietary TEMPUR material. Now the company is redefining the mattress shopping experience with the opening of this and a handful of other flagship retail stores within the next year across the country.  A second store will open late this year at the Kenwood Mall near Cincinnati, Ohio.

An oasis of comfort for shoppers, the Tempur-Pedic store at the Natick Mall is a no-pressure sales environment, featuring an inviting array of 'micro-bedroom' areas. The 12 beds offered are grouped by collection, creating a sense of privacy and making it easy for consumers to browse and compare mattresses. Sampling from a pillow bar allows them to further fine tune their quest based on individual preference.

Visitors have the chance to stretch out and settle in on the beds, rest their heads on the pillows and test drive an Ergo Adjustable Base. A focal point of the store's design is an 11-foot-10-inch high by 11-foot-6-inch wide TEMPUR wall where customers can interact with the different materials and learn more about what makes Tempur-Pedic products unique.

The store showcases the full Tempur-Pedic product line across all categories, including beds, pillows, bed linens, slippers, and home and travel. In addition to its own proprietary products, the Tempur-Pedic store sells items that complement the brand experience, offering a selection of best selling candles from NEST Fragrances, a leading luxury home fragrance manufacturer, with other products that extend comfort and wellness.
