Mitsui Chemicals shuts down Chiba naphtha cracker

Japan-based Mitsui Chemicals shut a naphtha cracker on Tuesday, citing problems with its electrical system.

A Mitsui spokesperson informed fibre2fashion that the naphtha cracker located at Chiba developed a problem with its electric system, due to which it was shutdown.

She could not confirm the restart date of the cracker which has a capacity to produce 553,000 tons of ethylene.
