Turnaround at two Asahi Kasei ACN plants in 2012

Two acrylonitrile (ACN) plants of Japan-based Asahi Kasei will undergo maintenance turnaround in the fourth quarter of 2012.

Asahi Kasei operates four ACN plants, three in Japan and one in Korea.

According to an official of the company who spoke to fibre2fashion, the Kawasaki based ACN plant will go off-stream from October 1 and will restart on November 10.

The other ACN plant based in South Korea will go for a turnaround from October 5 till November 1, he said.

The Kawasaki based plant has a capacity of 150,000 tons per year. There are two ACN plants in Mizushima - Japan. One has a capacity of 200,000 tons per annum and the other has capacity of 100,000 tons per annum.

The ACN plant in South Korea has a capacity of 315,000 tons per annum.
