It’s been an amazing year for the UK so far with the Queen’s Jubilee and the London Olympic Games, and now, September 2012 sees STITCH Menswear, the leading menswear tradeshow based out of London, presenting carefully selected key menswear brands from the UK during Nolcha Fashion Week : New York.

After five very informative years and six rewarding seasons, STITCH has worked with hundreds of brands and thousands of buyers from over 62 different countries, showcasing some of the best menswear, accessories and footwear brands from the UK and international markets.  Using this experience, STITCH will present three “Best of British” brands to show a cross section of what the UK has to offer.

Pretty Green, a British clothing label founded and designed by Liam Gallagher (former front-man of the British rock band, Oasis), represents a key section of the UK fashion market. There are two distinct collections, GREEN LABEL is a focused, casual range dedicated to providing quality, everyday signature pieces. The second is the BLACK LABEL which is a classic British tailoring collection, using fine fabrics with an innovative attention to detail.

Firetrap, founded in 1993, capitalizes on the fact that the brand is designed in London by British designers. Firetrap is defined by the London look, taking inspiration from all the sights sounds and flavors of London life. “Edgy”, “Dangerous”, “Individual”, “English” and “uncompromising” were used to describe the brand by its founder and these words are just as relevant to the label today.

Bolongaro Trevor is a unique British brand designed by Kait Bolongaro and Stuart Trevor, the original designers behind the cult retail store group All Saints Retail ltd, a store which just recently made its entrance into the U.S. market with its first store in New York City in 2010.  Original, unique and commercial, the new collection includes contemporary handmade pieces inspired by vintage finds amassed over the past 20 years. Bolongaro Trevor brings together a modern, sharp sculptured aesthetic with a moody, hard edge.

Of the partnership, Brian Duffy, Founder of STITCH Menswear says, “With 2012 being the year of everything British, we are excited by the opportunity to deliver a cross section of British menswear and to celebrate this with Nolcha, our New York partners."

Joining the line-up as the fourth and final designer in the Best of British Menswear presentation is Richard Smith Prêt à Porter, a line of bespoke garments using handmade cloth from leading British mills.  Richard’s runway show will feature a series of notable New York City business men walking in the show, including Ryan Serhant (star of Million Dollar Listing New York on Bravo, who will be onsite to film his modelling debut for the show), Peter Shankman (Founder of HARO), and Sergio Fernandez de Cordova (Global Entrepreneurs Council at United Nations) just to name a few.

The Best of British Menswear runway show will take place on Wednesday, September 12th, at 11am, at Pier 59 (18th Street and the Westside Highway).
