Indian specialty chemicals sector to grow by 14%

India’s speciality chemicals industry, a key catalyst to growth of the chemicals industry, is seen posting a 13-14 percent growth this year, Union Chemicals and Petrochemicals Secretary Jose Cyriac has said.
 
The US$ 17.7 billion Indian specialty chemicals industry is expected to be worth US$ 80-100 billion by 2020, Mr. Cyriac said, while speaking at the second edition of Informex India.
 
Stating of research and development to be imperative for development of the specialty chemicals industry in the country, the Union Secretary said with its pool of talented scientists and experts India is a perfect destination for the industry.
 
The three-day event, Informex India 2012, is tagged as a confluence of companies that invest in R&D, applications development, quality systems and more.
 
The event is organized in India by organizers of world-famous Informex USA, and it serves as an ideal meeting space for buyers and sellers of chemical manufacturing space.
 
Kishore Shah, President of Indian Specialty Chemicals Manufacturers’ Association said the event would bring more business opportunities to the Indian industry.
