Mamata Banerjee inaugurates Dhunseri's second PET plant

Hon'ble Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee inaugurated the second PET plant of the Dhunseri Petrochem & Tea Limited having a capacity of 2, 10,000 TPA at Haldia; West Bengal. 

The said plant together with the First PET plant of the Company with a capacity of 2,00,000 TPA will take the total PET production capacity of the Company to 4,10,000 TPA. With this expansion the Company's PET production capacity will be the largest in India. 

Sri Partha Chatterjee, Hon'ble Minister for Commerce & Industry and Information Technology was the Chief Guest in the inauguration ceremony. Guests of Honour, Sri Mukul Roy, Hon'ble Member of Parliament, Sri Subendu Adhikari, Hon'bJe Member of Parliament, Sri Srinjoy Bose, Hon'ble Member of Parliament and Smt. Seurt Saha, Hon'ble Member of Legislative Assembly were also present at the inauguration ceremony. 
 
The Second PET plant has been executed in technical collaboration with Oerlikon Barmag of Germany as EPC Contractor and Process Licensor. The Project has been successfully commissioned this month. One half of the Company's total PET Resin output will go into domestic market in the country and the balance will be exported to earn about Rs. 2000 Crores of foreign exchange. 
 
Today, the Hon'ble Chief Minister also laid two more Foundation Stones for the projects initiated by Dhunseri. 
 
First, for the Girl's Hostel in Behala, South 24 Parganas which would accommodate 400 girl students who come to Kolkata for professional/higher studies from far away places. Such hostel facilities are not available in Kolkata at present. This project will form a part of our Group's Corporate Social Responsibility. 
 
Second, the Foundation Stone of the Second Phase of the Company's I.T. Park at Bantala. Phase - I of the l.T. Park will be completed by middle of next year and the Company expects to start the construction work for the second Phase soon. Both the First Phase and the Second Phase will have a total area of 3,80,000 Sft. each with a seating capacity of 7000 persons. The said IT Park has been set up to cater to the growing IT/ITES infrastructure requirements in West Bengal.
