Chinese rayon yarn market shows bearish sentiment

Bearish sentiment continues to prevail in Chinese rayon yarn market. In spite of declining market prices, the sales conditions are flat and manufacturers are selling their products at lower prices, mainly owing to the slight decrease in the price of viscose staple fibre, the chief raw material for rayon yarn.
At present, the price of 1.5Dx38mm yarn in mainstream market is in the range of 14,100-14,200 yuan/ton, and lower level price is around 14,000 yuan/ton. Both domestic sales and exports continue to be weak and inventory levels at spinning factories are rising.
The mainstream price of 30s knitting yarn is currently in the range of 18,500-18,700 yuan/ton. However, the price of 30s yarn in Shao Xiao market is in the range of 17,800-18,000 yuan/ton.
Analysts do not foresee any significant improvement in Chinese rayon yarn market this year due to pessimistic outlook of textile market.
