Smart Textiles, where future is promising!

Furthermore, Ardmel Automation (GB) is able to supply newly developed machines for application of the seam sealing bands, Stabio Textile (CH) provides textile coating and Baxenden Chemicals (GB) the chemistry required to apply and coat the films. In addition, multi-dimensional fabrics such as thermo-insulation materials meet the demands for weight reduction.
The Textile Research Institute of Saxony - Sächsische Textilforschungsinstitut - (Germany) has now transferred these constructions from fabrics to non-wovens. On the other hand, Morphogenese, the knitted material from nylon and viscose by Veronika Groß is permanently malleable, very flexible. It provides possibilities that are just as interesting in terms of fashion as they are for bandages or as a carrier for foils or fleece. New textile straps also offer a high degree of functionality for comfort and safety. The range of products from the Portuguese specialist Artefita includes straps incorporating many key properties, in so far as they are slip resistant, reflective, water repellent, aromatic or flame resistant.
These and other interesting developments can be seen at Avantex from 7 – 9 June 2005. It is already the third time that this international forum for innovative clothing textiles is being held. However, this year it takes place for the first time alongside Techtextil, the international trade fair for technical textiles and nonwovens. It was the wish of the industry that these two tral trade fair for technical textiles and nonwovens. It was the wish of the industry that these two trade fairs should be brought together. “In order to achieve maximum synergy for exhibitors and visitors”, is how Michael Jänecke, brand manager for Techtextil and Avantex at Messe Frankfurt Exhibition GmbH explains the decision. The concept behind Avantex has been adapted to these recent developments (see press release of 02/05 - Avantex 2005: new impulses for the clothing industry).
