Japan releases May 2013 textile & apparel trade figures

Japan’s Ministry of Finance has released trade statistics for the month of May 2013.
 
According to the data, Japan exported textile yarn and fabric worth 58.307 billion yen in May 2013, accounting for nearly 1 percent share of all exports made by the country during the month.
 
Japan exported textile machinery valued at 20.105 billion yen in May, accounting for 0.3 percent share of all exports made by Japan during the month.
 
In May 2013, Japan imported 73.103 billion yen worth of textile yarn and fabric, contributing about 1.1 percent to all imports made by the country.
 
Clothing and accessories valued at 228.539 billion yen were imported by Japan during the month under review, accounting for 3.4 percent of all goods imported by the country. China, Bangladesh and some Southeast Asian nations were major suppliers of apparel to the Far East nation during the month under review.
