Spain’s textile export prices have dipped for the first time since January 2010.

The Export Price Index (IPRIX) indicates that the Spanish textile industry recorded a fall of 0.1 percent in the month of June compared to the 0.6 percent increase in the month of May, 2013.

According to the data released by National Statistics Institute (INE), the clothing industry IPRIX continued to rise in the month of June, 2013, with an increase of 0.6 percent, which was one tenth more than the prices recorded in May, 2013, reports modaes.es.

Contrary to the export prices, the import prices of textile products in Spain have incurred an increase of one percent in the month of June 2013, compared to the same period in 2012, whereas the Import Price Index (IPRIM) of the garment industry declined by 0.1 percent in June 2013, compared to the same period last year.

However, despite the crisis and the difficult situation faced by the textile industry, around 129 textile companies from Spain participated in international fairs and missions coordinated by the Confederation of the Textile Industry of Spain (Texfor).

The textile companies participated in trade fairs and missions held in various countries including Colombia, Peru and Germany.
