These are followed by what promises to be an informative panel discussion on the trends and opportunities of retail and fashion in Mainland China and Hong Kong.
The first moderator, Dario Acconci from P&P Ltd, will discuss ‘Hong Kong as the crossroads of fashion and luxury in China: retail structures and related strategic and legal aspects’. Giovanni Di Salvo of Strabranding Ltd, will then lead the panel in a discussion titled ‘Retail and Fashion in Mainland China and Hong Kong: Trends and Opportunities’.
Concurrent ‘Innovation and Technology Symposium’ will provide solutions to global challenges in the textiles industry
The Innovation and Technology Symposium 2013 is based on the idea that innovation and technology are key elements to enhance the competitiveness of companies in the global marketplace. With that in mind, a series of keynote presentations and breakout sessions has been organised to provide solutions for the challenges companies are presently facing.
Morning keynote presentations include ‘Sexy Trash + Urban Mining: Executable Eco-Solutions to Solve our Urban Waste Problem’ conducted by Arthur C Huang from the Taiwanese company MINIWIZ Sustainable Energy Development.
This is followed by ‘Innovation – Perspective from a Global Brand’ by Frazer Mead from the Hong Kong office of Marks and Spencer (Asia Pacific). The final presentation is given by Prof Mei-fang Zhu from Dong Hua University in China. Her topic is ‘Polymer-rich Functional Nanocomposite Fibres (NCFs) and their Application’.
