A range of dazzling outfits designed by a highly creative mix of designers from countries like Mexico, USA, Colombia and Honduras were showcased at the recently concluded 11th edition of Costa Rica Fashion Week 2013.

Held in San Jose, the capital city of the Latin American nation of Costa Rica, the event featured more than forty catwalk shows that highlighted ready-to-wear, haute couture and conceptual designs.

Costa Rican designer Johana Arce opened the event with a 27 piece-collection titled Memoirs. Based on tones of emerald, blue, white, black and pale pink, the line included billowing chiffon skirts, cocktail dresses, evening gowns and lacy bridal outfits.

Famous Colombian design talent Rafael Páez presented his 34-piece range named Divas at the soiree. The line featured a mixed line of everyday staples, haute couture, transparent lace costumes in sober pastel and perky neon shades.

In addition to the spectacularly staged runway events, the soiree also organized a commercial exhibition space titled Fashion Expo, which displayed ensembles from nearly seventy exhibitors.

Fashion-centric lectures and workshops were also hosted on the sidelines of the event which was organized by the Ministry of Labor, the National Institute of Learning (INA in Spanish) and the Textile Chamber of Industry in Costa Rica (CATECO).
