Distinguished speakers and guests from the Government, academia, NGOs, the industries, the press and Esquel colleagues attended the symposium, in which topics such as environmental resources, technological innovation, sustainable production, waste disposal, public policy and corporate social responsibility were discussed in-depth.
Chairman Margie kicked-off the day by delivering a warm welcoming speech, commenting that enterprises will have to build an innovative supply chain system on top of state-of-the-art products and technology before they can embark on a sustainable path.
On top of that, she called for the industry to be more sustainability-conscious and devote in environmental protection work so that a harmonious balance between industrial development and a sustainable living environment can be struck.
After that, Ma Xiuhong, Chairman of China Foreign Trade Center delivered her keynote speech, admonishing the industry to help protect the environment before it’s too late. Co-Chairman of Stanford Global Supply Chain Management Forum, Professor Hau L. Lee from Stanford Business School, introduced the Six Sigma Sustainability Process which can lower production costs and increase production efficiency.
Various other inspiring speakers shared their thoughts on how enterprises could transform and upgrade their supply chain, and combat some of the most pressing environmental challenges we face nowadays including air pollution, water contamination and energy over-consumption.
