Soft, breezy white linen daywear ensembles, meant for both men and women, opened designer Michael Kors’s Spring/Summer 2014 catwalk show, staged on the seventh day of ongoing Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York.

With a delightful amalgamation of sporty and romantic looks, the New York City-based fashion talent’s latest range featured 1940’s style trenches, stripe button-down shirts, khaki skirts, pleated dresses, cashmere shrugs, mohair cardigans and leaf-print separates.

After Kors’s runway ensembles, well-known American designer Nanette Lepore took the centre stage with her summer appropriate beach-ready line. Based on a mixed palette of bold and neutral colours, the collection highlighted delicate spaghetti-strap dresses, embroidered lace outfits, orange trousers and floral-print bathing suits.

Fashion label Clover Canyon, by Los Angeles-based designer Rozae Nichols, played heavily with Californian fashion for its latest range. Accentuated with architectural and landscape prints, the line featured long dresses, bell-shaped sleeve crop tops, full skirts, palazzos, coats and neoprene bras and shorts.

The 71-year-old design veteran Betsy Johnson once again presented a cutesy girlie collection, replete with poufy prom dresses, white and pink skirts, as well as sexy animal and floral print minis and leggings, at the prestigious do.
