Munich Fabric Start concludes on successful note

The sunny, late summer weather in the first week of September was symbolic of the success of the latest fabric and findings fair MUNICH FABRIC START held in Munich from 3-5 September. The trade fair presented itself very successfully with record participation of 950 international exhibitors who exhibited approximately 1,500 collections. At the close of the fair organisers were able to count around 18,500 trade visitors.

Visitor numbers were also more than satisfactory for the management Wolfgang and Sebastian Klinder. Alongside the large majority of German visitors, this time there were also a striking number of international customers in Munich, especially from the BeNeLux countries, who used the early date of the fair as a kick-off into the new season and as a platform to view the latest collections for Autumn.Winter 14/15.

After three days of trade fair activity management at MUNICH FABRIC START drew a positive conclusion: the exhibitor portfolio has not only grown by some 10%, it has also become more international with the location of Munich not only attracting high-purchasing customers from the German-speaking area but also holding ever greater appeal for visitors from the represented foreign countries.

This continues MUNICH FABRIC START’s ongoing positive trend of the past few years as a kick-off event for the new season – despite the turbulent climate affecting the clothing sector in past seasons. Relaxed optimism also prevailed at the latest trade fair – which can be attributed both to the strong domestic market and the wide range of collections from strong market stakeholders from Europe, Turkey and China.
