The techno-coloured 1950s and early 1960s era was recreated at the catwalk of Canadian brand DSQUARED2, which featured sexy colourful Spring/Summer-2014 trends for women on the opening day of Milan Fashion Week (MFW).

Owned and operated by designer twin brothers Dean and Dan Caten, the label showcased knee-length strapless dresses with flouncy skirts, Capri pants teamed with swingy tops and sequined and beaded swimsuits in a bright palette of orange, turquoise and red.

Savannah animals played inspiration behind the label Angelo Marani’s latest collection. Accentuated with colourful prints of zebras, giraffes, butterflies, toucans and leopards, the range included python patterned sheath dresses, soft shirts and beehive style net woven outfits.

Italian fashion designer and dressmaker Alberta Ferretti chose to infuse plenty of sunshine into her young, colourful designs for the next summer. Enhanced with multicoloured floral embroidery, the line included sheer muslin dresses, chiffon frilled bralet, silk and lace made ruffled pieces and summer frocks stitched with luxe red, yellow, blue and orange hued satin ribbons.

Gucci Creative Director Frida Giannini used the decorative Art Nouveau influenced detailing in her new sporty S/S ensembles, showcased on the first day of MFW. Aimed at bold, independent, jet-setting women of today, the collection included mesh T-shirts, basketball shorts, bikini tops, track pants and slinky dresses.
