The OBL is well reputed for it's testing within the footwear industry and has been recently recognized by the following awards: the H. Ed Cabaud Research Award from the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (1989), an Innovation Award from the MSU College of Osteopathic Medicine (1996), and the O'Donoghue Award for Clinically-Based Research from the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine (2000), and a Research Excellence Award from the MSU College of Osteopathic Medicine (2000).
To date, MSU has performed compression and flexion testing on Pony basketball and soccer product, which has supplied comprehensive data. This information is currently being used in the design development of Pony footwear.
