An exhibition, displaying the works of Portuguese designer and current artistic director of the famous French label Lacoste, Felipe Oliveira Baptista, is going on at the Lisbon-based Design and Fashion Museum MUDE.

Scheduled to run through February 16, 2014, the exhibit aims to chart the decade-long journey of the prolific Paris-based designer since the foundation of his eponymous line in the year 2003.

Curated by the director and curator of the museum Barbara Coutinho, the event features more than 130 fashion creations, selected from Baptista’s own brand, displayed neatly over an area of nearly 1500 square meters.

The clothing exhibits, which comprise of little black dresses and man’s tailored jackets, are put up under five different themes such as, protection, new uniforms and work clothes, revisiting the classics, variable geometries and technology versus nature.

In addition to the apparel showcase, the exhibition also includes some 80 screens, installed by the famed set designer Bureau Betak, featuring footages of the 38-year-olds’s memorable catwalk shows, fashion editorials and design sketches.

An alumnus of Kingston University, London, the designer, who has earlier worked with well-established names like MaxMara and Cerruti, is also a proud recipient of the Grand Prix title at the Festival d’Hyères in 2002.

Founded in 1933, Lacoste specializes in a range of clothing, lifestyle products and home and other fashion accessories.
