The second day catwalk presentations of the ongoing Canadian bi-annual festival World MasterCard Fashion Week (WMCFW) in Toronto were all about relaxed laidback looks.

Montreal-based designer Travis Taddeo featured a streetwear-inspired collection infused with B-Boy dancers’ like casual carefree vibes. Teamed with baseball hats, the line’s menswear pieces included sleeveless leather vests, hoodies, tanks and loose and fitted shorts. Based in muted shades of white, black, grey and midnight blue, the range’s womenswear ensembles were comfy T-shirts, long-sleeve shirts, drawstring pants, tiny boy shorts and graceful jersey dresses with side cutouts.

Toronto-based label Sid Neigum incorporated futuristic elements into its latest architecture-themed runway presentation. Decorated with intricate, laser cut geometric patterns, the rich eggplant and coppery hued line featured sculptural halter and draped cowl neck pieces as well as asymmetrical leather-trimmed wrap coats and skirts.

Montreal designer Melissa Nepton drew inspiration from Japanese culture and styles for her latest collection of sophisticated yet comfortable separates. Made from silk, viscose and quilted cotton, the apparels were enhanced with stripes, and floral and geometric prints. The range included loose-fitting tank dresses, roomy wide-legged trousers and a sequinned strapless mini dress with a flashy hemline painted with navy blue and gold swirl motifs.

Chinese brand JNBY, short for Just Naturally Be Yourself, presented a line of architectural style separates. Designed under the guidance of creative director Li Lin, the collection with an ultra lax feel was based in an earthy palette of mocha and olive tones. The ensembles included criss-cross patterned blouses, silky dresses, textured blazers, three-quarter length trousers, frayed edges on sheer tops, wrinkled gauze shirts and lightweight jackets.
