245 firms attend Lithuania's textile trade fair

Over 245 companies, including textile and apparel, from 19 different countries participated at the recently concluded international trade fair ‘Baltic Textile and Leather 2013’ held at the Lithuanian Exhibition and Congress Centre (LITEXPO), in the capital city of Vilnius in Lithuania.

The 22nd edition of the three-day expo, organized by Versli Lietuva (Lithuanian Enterprise) and Lithuanian Apparel and Textile Industry Association (LATIA), saw participation from nearly 110 Lithuanian textile and apparel companies, who presented their products.

As part of the show, the Lithuanian Enterprise also organized an international business matchmaking forum, where textile and clothing firms from Lithuania got an opportunity to establish contacts with international textile and apparel companies participating in the event.

Jurgita Butkeviciene, director of export department of Lithuanian Enterprise, said that this is the fourth time the international business matchmaking forum has been conducted in conjunction with the exhibition, to provide additional benefits for participants.

This year, each participating firm from Lithuania also showcased presentations at the forum amongst at least eight to twelve foreign representatives that the company wishes to establish trade relations with, she added.

The Baltic Textile and Leather fair is an annual exhibition that offers exhibitors and visitors the opportunity to take advantage of the various international conferences, international business matchmaking events, seminars and business forums for professionals, fashion events and trend shows, hosted under the fair.

Exhibitors at the fair displayed various products, including outwear and innerwear, knitwear, workwear, leatherwear under the Fashion segment; fabrics, knitted material, nonwoven materials, technical textiles, home textiles fibre, yarns, textile accessories, textile dyes, and subsidiary materials, under the Textile and Raw Materials segment; handicrafts from textiles, nonwoven, and fibers under the Leather, Shoes and Crafts segment as well as textile, sewing and knitting machinery, subsidiary parts, and technologies under the Machinery and Logistics segment.
