China's textile & garment retail sales rise in Oct'13

The domestic retail sales of textiles and garments in China increased by a sharp 9.9 percent year-on-year to 103.3 billion yuan in October 2013, according to the National Bureau of Statistics.
From January to October 2013, textiles and garments retail sales in China totaled 892.1 billion yuan, showing a rise of 11.9 percent year-on-year.
However, the growth rate in textile and garment retail sales was lower than the 13.3 percent rise in total retail sales of social consumer goods, valued at 2.149 trillion yuan in October 2013.
Of this, the retail sales of large-scale enterprises jumped 12.4 percent year-on-year to 1.057 trillion yuan in October, while the figure increased by 13 percent year-on-year to 19.03 trillion yuan for the first ten months of the current year, the data showed.
