Spanish textile export price index dips 1% in Nov 13

The Spanish textiles Export Price Index (IPRIX) for the month of November 2013 shows a decline of 1 percent year-on-year, according to the data released by the National Statistics Institute (INE) of Spain.

According to the INE data, the IPRIX for overall exports in Spain has also declined by 2.9 percent in the month of November 2013, compared to the same period last year.

The total IPRIX recorded in November is one tenth more than the IPRIX registered in the month of October, 2013.

The IPRIX in the manufacturing of garments sector also incurred a decline of 0.5 percent in the month of November, 2013, compared to the same month last year.

Meanwhile, the Import Price Index (IPRIM) data from the INE reveals that the IPRIM of the textile industry in Spain has also registered a decrease of 0.8 percent year-on-year for the month of November, 2013.

The IPRIM registered in the manufacture of garment sector of Spain also dipped by 0.9 percent in the month of November 2013, compared to the same month last year.

The overall IPRIM of the Spanish industry also registered a decline of 2.9 percent in the month of November, which is four tenths higher than the IPRIM recorded in the month of October, 2013.

The IPRIX measures the change in prices of industrial products manufactured in Spain for export to other countries, on a monthly basis, whereas the IPRIM indicates the monthly changes in prices of industrial products imported by Spain from other countries.
