From heavy-duty winterwear to soft delicate silk scarves, the final day of the fourth instalment of London Collections: Men (LC: M) wrapped up with a mixed bag of both conventional and avant-garde creations.

Staying loyal to his currently freeze-engulfed native country America, the New York-based fashion designer Tom Ford showcased an apt collection of sturdy and ultraluxe outerwear pieces. Replete with casual and sportswear like vibes, the ensembles were lined with waterproof and warm materials like coyote, cashmere, shearling, mink and detachable neoprene.

The daywear collection included parkas, jackets, raincoats, blazers and 1960’s style slim cut corduroy suits paired with stovepipe trousers. For evening, the featured menswear apparels were shawl-collared silk-velvet smoking jackets and flowery turtleneck pullovers.

English textile designer-cum-artist William Morris-esque flowery prints and real British craftsmanship were observed in the hotly-anticipated luxury fashion house Burberry Prorsum’s latest Autumn/Winter 2014 catwalk collection at LC: M.

Designed under the guidance of its Chief Creative Officer Christopher Bailey, the range was based on moody subtle tones of navy blue and mauve. Accentuated with prints of falling ochre leaves, gothic floral and the map of London, the shearling, fringed suede and needle-punched leather made line showcased coats, string vests, shearling jackets and flowing silk scarves.
