The Design Indaba Expo heralds the South African creative industry, presenting visitors with the best in home-grown design. Fans of Merino Wool products can also look forward to a dedicated Buyer’s Day on 27 February.
With more than 35 000 visitors to the Expo, it has grown to become the biggest curated design event in the Southern Hemisphere and is the only platform that welcomes advertising, craft, décor, fashion, product design, industrial design, new media, publishing, visual art, jewellery design and graphic design, all under one roof.
Designer Ronel Jordaan describes Design Indaba Expo 2014 as one of the most important design-focused events for designers during the Design Capital 2014 celebrations. “I am proud to be part of an exhibition by Cape Wools SA featuring eco-friendly wool products of the highest quality at the Expo,” says Jordaan.
Cape Wools SA supports the South African wool industry with research, development, promotion and market intelligence through progressive, independent and transparent projects, respecting different role-players.
Cape Wools SA aims to educate as many people as possible about the incredible benefits and versatility of wool in fashion, furnishings and everyday life. This in turn, supports many small businesses and local farmers whose livelihoods depend on the wool industry.
By increasing awareness and raising funds to support its vision and values, Cape Wools SA will be able to ensure a continued, and prospective future for the wool industry in South Africa.
Design Indaba Expo. Design for change. Design for good. Design for a better world. These are the ideals that fuel Design Indaba's drive for a better world through design, creativity and innovation.
