Architectural structures and geometric patterns, both intertwined into beautiful Autumn/Winter 2014 designs, were showcased at the famous Spanish talent Carolina Herrera’s show on the fifth day of ongoing Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in New York.

The 75-year-old seasoned veteran featured an array of elegant daywear pieces, made from boiled wool and soft shimmering silk, at the event. Decorated with fur accents and bold abstract prints, the line included luxe coats, rounded shoulder jackets, wide collar sleeveless tops, long full skirts and sleek narrow dresses in fiery red, black, rich blue, brown and burnished copper hues.

Freezing arctic like weather conditions played as the backdrop at the American fashion brand Tommy Hilfiger’s catwalk presentation. Replete with a recurring plaid pattern, the showcased line included cosy cable-knit ponchos, parkas, fringed sweaters, woollen skirts, long mohair dresses and snug toasty caps in a muted palette of dark blue, grey, maroon, black and cream.

New York-based fashion designer Zac Posen featured his much appreciated just released affordable wedding gown collection, created in collaboration with the famous American bridal-store retail chain David’s Bridal, at the event. The wedding and eveningwear ensembles included several satin fit-and-flare numbers, tulle ball gowns and embroidered Chantilly lace made gorgeous dresses.
