Amidst lashing rains and howling winds in the British capital, the Autumn/Winter 2014 season of London Fashion Week (LFW) started with its usual fervour of glitzy catwalks and fashionable celebrity studded front rows.

Korean designer J JS Lee opened the five-day-long ongoing soiree with her English countryside-inspired collection, which included woollen and mohair made Princess cut dresses, full length gowns, sweeping coats, pleated skirts, polo neck T-shirts, autumnal blazers and hounds tooth-print silk trousers.

The Royal College of Art grad Christopher Raeburn showcased a line of practical functional clothing, apt for the wet chilly season. Made using techno fabrics, the range featured cropped trousers with hems in contrasting hues, quilted bombers, camouflage print shimmering capes, trench coats, faux fur panelled parkas and oversized sheepskin military jackets.

Parsons alumnus Jasper Conran kicked off the LFW second day in the rain drenched British capital with his latest sartorial ode to classy womanly forms. Stressing on curvy feminine silhouettes, the pieces included cashmere coats with loose shoulders, striking geranium red skirts, black silk dresses with cutaway backs, buttery leather jackets and strappy sequin numbers.

Veteran talent John Rocha once again showcased his technical expertise in the dress heavy collection. Decorated with flower appliqués and eye-catching rosettes, the ensembles were textured gowns with sculpted hemlines, tiered crimson cocktail frocks and ruffled skirt suits in muted tones.
