Returning with a larger product variety, Interstoff Asia Essential – Spring 2014 is set to be held from 19 to 21 March in halls 1D & E at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. This edition will feature even more fashionable, functional and eco fabrics, while the size of the Accessories Zone also increases to make buyers’ sourcing trips to the fair more worthwhile.

Lecien Corporation from Japan and Rolee Tex from South Korea will be among many exhibitors to showcase fashionable fabrics. They will display embroidered lace and fancy knitted fabrics.

The show also promotes the usage of functional and eco fabrics. Quao Sung Garments & Weaving Co Ltd from Mainland China will offer COOLMAX fabrics and other functional fabrics featuring coffee carbon fibres and bamboo fibres. Moreover, eco fabric exhibitor Teijin Frontier (Hong Kong) Ltd will provide high-performance fashionable fabrics using fibres made from a self-developed close-loop recycling system – Eco Circle.

With more new exhibitors this year, the Accessories Zone will offer a wider variety of fashion accessories to buyers. Hong Kong Ouma Industry Co Ltd, a new exhibitor in this zone, will showcase leather / PU fashion belts, belt loops and buckles, bag buckles, buttons and labels, while another first-time exhibitor, Tongxiang Yinping Accessories Co Ltd from Mainland China, will bring its lead-free hot-fix rhinestone products with Oeko-Tex certifications.

Research and Education Zone joined by a new partner
The Research and Education Zone – where visitors can explore the latest developments and the most advanced technologies – welcomes a new partner this year. The Taiwan Textile Research Institute (TTRI) – a first-time co-organiser of this zone – will display their latest technologies on research and development for textiles.

The other two partners – the Thailand Textile Institute (THTI) and Shinshu University – will demonstrate research on local fabrics, namely modern Thai silk, which has been designed to fit the current lifestyle with trendiness, easy care and consistent quality, and Ueda Tsumugi, which is the traditional fabric commonly used in the Ueda region in Japan.

Another feature of the fair, the Designers’ Studio, will demonstrate how to minimise waste in fashion designs by showcasing award-winning outfits – sponsored by Redress – from the EcoChic Design Awards. Furthermore, this area will also display innovative garments from Lenzing Fibers (Hong Kong) Ltd, as well as 12 outfits designed by six Hong Kong designers / brands that are featured in the Fabrics to Fashion Walk.
