The Kyrgyz participation was organized under the ‘Promotion of trade in the Kyrgyz Republic’ program by the International Trade Centre (ITC), with the objective of promoting and developing trade in the country by providing technical assistance, reports vb.kg.
According to the program manager Indira Kadyrkanova, participation at the Textillegprom provided an opportunity for Kyrgyz garment enterprises to promote their products in the Russian market, CIS countries as well as the Eastern European market.
The fair was a good opportunity for Kyrgyz apparel manufacturers to meet with representatives of retail chains and sign new contracts for wholesale supply of goods to the Russian market, Kadyrkanova added.
The 22 Kyrgyz apparel firms also participated at the Collection Premiere Moscow (CPM) fair held in the Russian city of Moscow last month, and presented their latest products to over 19,850 visitors from 48 countries who attended the show.
The Kyrgyz apparel manufacturers showcased various products including dresses, skirts, trousers, jackets, suits, coats, knitwear, kidswear, knitted scarves, shawls, clothing accessories and more at both the fairs.
The ITC program ‘Promotion of trade in Kyrgyz Republic’ is an initiative undertaken by ITC with support from Kyrgyz Government to assist in the expansion and diversification of exports of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the textile and garment industry of Kyrgyzstan, with the aim of increasing their competitiveness and improving the quality of infrastructure of such enterprises in the country.
