Mimran presents furry metallic creations at Toronto FW

The iconic fur swathed 1966 Vogue cover photo of German model Veruschka von Lehndorff played as muse behind Kimberley Newport-Mimran’s latest Fall/Winter 2014-2015 catwalk show, staged on the third day of World MasterCard Fashion Week Toronto.

Head designer of the famous Canadian womenswear brand Pink Tartan, Mimran showcased a very fur and metal accent heavy collection. Primarily based on black and white monochromes with occasional dashes of deep red and sparkling silver, the range included oversized fur mittens, plaid coats, deer emblazoned Icelandic sweaters, woollen skirts and mink trousers.

Joseph Mimran, the designer behind affordable clothing brand Joe Fresh, featured his outerwear heavy Expedition collection on the same day of World MasterCard Fashion Week. Replete with basic wardrobe staples, the soft knits, faux fur and brightly coloured parkas were enhanced with prints of retro landscapes and wildlife.

Montreal-based company Mackage declared war against the spine-chilling winters with an unusual extraordinary stylish winterwear line designed by the label founders Elisa Dahan and Eran Elfassy. Based in a muted colour palette of mostly midnight blue with pops of fuchsia, cherry and green, the featured pieces were Bermuda shorts, Black Watch tartans, high-waisted tight-fit wool trousers, snug quilted leather crop tops and warm pencil skirts.
