Toronto FW wraps up with next season F/W predictions

The just wrapped up edition of the five-day-long Canadian style revelry Toronto Fashion Week featured an array of Fall-Winter 2014/2015 collections from a mix of talented young and seasoned designers.

The home-grown designer Farley Chatto opted to showcase an entire line, made exclusively of luxurious fur. Titled as Far & Away, the range was made using mink, chinchilla and fox furs.

Based on fitted silhouettes with narrow armholes and sleeves, the collection comprised of coats, capelets, vests, stoles, scarves, flared jackets and trapper hats in red, blue, green and mauve hues.

The high-end Montreal-based label Rudsak celebrated its twentieth anniversary through its latest catwalk showcase. Created under the guidance of its founder and creative leader Evik Asatoorian, the rock ‘n’ roll-inspired Cool Rebel range was peppered with pops of green, navy, black and metallic hues.

The line displayed leather jackets with pointed hems and floral patterns, sleek skin-tight miniskirts, coats with fur-trimmed collars and shiny sleeves, puffer jackets and super skinny pants.

Menswear label Bustle, owned by designer couple Shawn Hewson and Ruth Promislow, took inspiration from signature rugged docker styles of Scandinavian longshoremen for its upmarket range of cosy separates.

Made from soft, richly textured quilted fabrics, the featured pieces were denim jackets, drawstring pants, dual-toned turtlenecks, shawl collared cardigans and slim-fit cargo pants.

Womenswear brand Soia & Kyo’s designer Ilan Elfassy presented an outerwear heavy range comprised of structured woollen coats with soft textures as well as high-neck knits.
