China to debut childrenswear event Cool Kids Fashion

China is gearing up to host its first-ever exclusive childrenswear-focused exhibition-cum-trade fair titled Cool Kids Fashion.
Slated to take place from July 22 to 24, 2014, the event will serve as a promotional platform for local fashion brands to facilitate networking and foster business relationships with the fashion buyers.
Famous as well as up-and-coming designers from different parts of the world will exhibit their next season apparel trends and accessories for children (between the ages of 0 and 16 years) at the fair.
In addition to a children’s fashion show, trend forums, style dialogues among the key industry players, designers’ nights and children’s museum will form part of the three-day-long event which is expected to attract international sales agents, distributors, franchise investors, shopping and department store representatives and fashion media.
Cool Kids Fashion will be organized by the London-headquartered multinational media company UBM in the beautiful picturesque city of Shanghai.
In recent years, there is a growing focus on kidswear market in China. It is because China’s population for 0 to 14 year olds reached 220 million in 2012, and is growing by approximately 15 million annually, thus making it the largest consumer group worldwide.
Moreover, changing trends and rising disposable income have also contributed to the rise in demand for high quality, fashionable children’s apparel in China in recent years.
Currently, the market volume for children’s wear in China is estimated at over US$ 16.4 billion and is continuing to grow at 25 to 30 percent per annum.
