Fashion label Pineda Covalin, from Mexican designer duo Cristina Pineda and Ricardo Covalín, showcased both men’s and women’s Fall/Winter 2014-15 collections on the opening day of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Mexico.

Using tones of pink, turquoise blue, carmine red and gray, the menswear pieces were enriched with the country’s climate appropriate textures and structures. The range’s womenswear ensembles were cut-out dresses, midi skirts and pencil skirts in olive and emerald green, camel, gray, pink and blue colours.

Tregua, the fashion label from the design trio of Argentinean origin Natalia Casal, Lucia and Marina Cornejo Rulli, showcased creations resonating with the clothing worn by the South American pampas’ inhabitants, gauchos. Made using animal skins, organza and gauze, the moss green, burgundy and nude coloured Equ range was accented with fringes, textures and draping.

The sophisticated 1930’s jazz era played as the source of inspiration for the Mexican designer of Lebanese origin David Solomon. Replete with slim structured silhouettes and super feminine forms, his line highlighted a range of tight-fit guipure fabric dresses with V-necklines, scooped out backs and detailed sleeves in hues of emerald green, brown, carmine red and gold.

Guadalajara-based designer sisters Julia and Renata used silk satin, chiffon and crepe satin wool for their new rectangular shaped voluminous shirt dresses, kimonos and dresses in nude, brown, orchid, white candle, pale almond, thistle and burgundy tones.
