Propylene prices rise in India, Europe & US last fortnight

The prices of propylene increased in Southeast Asia, India, Europe and the US markets in the last fortnight ending March 31, 2014, compared to the previous fortnight March 1-15, 2014. However, prices declined in Far East Asian region during the same period.
In Southeast Asia and India, the average price of propylene inched up marginally to US$ 1330/ton in the last fortnight. On April 5, propylene price was assessed at $1320/ton.
In F E Asia, the average price of propylene declined by 1.47 percent to $1345/ton in the last fortnight, compared to the average price of $1365/ton registered in the previous fortnight, due to weak downstream demand and high inventory levels in key markets.
In Europe, average ethylene price surged up by 2.23 percent to € 1145/ton due to limited product availability, as compared to the average price of € 1120/ton in the previous fortnight.
In the US, average price of ethylene increased slightly to 61.5 cents/pound in the last fortnight.
