254 brands partake in Minas Gerais' trade fair Minas Trend

More than 254 clothing and fashion accessory brands have gathered to showcase their latest creations at the ongoing 14th edition of the Minas Trend, an event that aims to promote the fashion industry of the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais.

Slated to run through April 9, 2014, the runway-cum-trade fair serves as a platform for the participating buyers and manufacturers to foster new business relationships and stimulate the exchange of knowledge.

Themed as Sob os olhos do mundo (which means Under the eyes of the world), the event is exhibiting an array of Spring/Summer 2015 designs by brands like Cavendish, Desigual, Fethie, Hector Albertazzi, Juliana Jabour and Pedro Lourenço.

The three-day-long fashion do kicked off with a flower-inspired opening catwalk parade, showcasing more than 30 looks made from leather, knit, tulle, satin, silk, georgette and organza.

Designer Mabel Magalhães featured a breezy line, adorned with precious stones and innovative prints, on the first day of the soiree. Based on a restricted palette of red and white hues, the standout pieces included a bejewelled halter neck jumpsuit and a long gold and white thread embroidered ensemble.

Other than the clothing exhibitions and runway shows, lectures and forums on topics like ‘Inspirations for winter-2015 trends’ are also being organized on the sidelines of the event.
