Several nationally-renowned Indonesian fashion designers presented their latest collections at the recently held eighth edition of the Fashion Nation 2014, at the Senayan City Mall, in the Indonesian capital city of Jakarta.

Organized by elite shopping mall Senayan City Mall, the fashion event saw leading designers from the Indonesian fashion industry participating and showcasing their latest ready-to-wear collections to fashion enthusiasts in the country.

The ten-day fashion soiree was opened by renowned Indonesian designer Denny Wirawan who presented his Japanese motif-themed collection of 15 outfits titled ‘Affirmation’. The designer presented 15 creations inspired by kimono-style dresses dominating in black sheer materials accentuating the exotic Asian look.

The collection featured simple yet ornamental black blouses with white accents paired with bright red knee-length pencil skirts, black and white tunics paired with knee-length pants, as well as jackets, coats and kimono-style blouses and dresses, in shades of black, white and red.

Designer Sapto Djojokartiko presented a more mysterious and mythical collection inspired by Spanish movies with mystical themes. The collection featured black sleeveless low-cut dresses in gothic style, long red gowns with ruffles, as well as flamenco-inspired dresses incorporating materials such as lace and chiffons, all in the shades of red and black.

Popular Indonesian batik clothing brand Alleria Batik also presented its latest batik ready-to-wear collection titled ‘Allure of Weaving’ during the event. The designs included dresses made from woven batik fabrics, incorporating materials such as viscose and cotton silk, and each dress made through weaving techniques using handlooms. Alleria also unveiled a children’s batik clothing collection during the show.

The ten-day event was held under the theme ‘Infinite Style’ and also saw participation from globally renowned designers such as Joe Chia from Malaysia whose creations have been worn by celebrities on the red carpet at the Golden Globe Awards, as well as designer Rayson Tan from Singapore.
