Maruzen Petrochemical to shut MEG plant for maintenance

Japan-based Maruzen Petrochemical Co. Ltd. is planning to shut its monoethylene glycol (MEG) plant for maintenance turnaround for more than a month.
 
“The MEG plant is likely to be taken off-stream from May-end to beginning of July, 2014, for maintenance turnaround,” a company official told fibre2fashion.
 
The MEG plant is located in Ichihara, Chiba, and has an annual capacity to produce 115,000 mt of MEG.
 
The business operations of Maruzen include import, export, production, processing and sales of ethylene, propylene, benzene and other basic petrochemical products, methyl ethyl ketone and other solvents, polyparavinyl phenol and other new materials.
