A rare instance of art-meets-fashion can be seen at the ongoing exhibit, taking place at Madrid’s Museo del Traje (Museum of Textiles), which features Spanish designer Ulises Mérida’s latest artwork like Autumn/Winter 2014-15 collection Organia.

The 12-piece range, which has been designed more as a form of artistic expression than regular commercialized latest trend following fashions, aims to sculpt the woman’s body with organic yesteryear’s silhouettes yet giving it a very fresh modern day feel.

Made using materials like wool, felt, silk jersey, straw, dupion silk and velvet, the black, charcoal gray, green, bronze and orange hued sculptural pieces feature silk ribbon and bow decorated waists, necklines and shoulders.

Slated to run through April 20, 2014, the clothing exhibit, curated by Esperanza Garcia Claver, also showcases a fashion film made by creative audio visual director José María Durán.

Trained under the likes of Jesús del Pozo, Agatha Ruiz de la Prada and Roberto Torretta, the alumnus of the Istituto Europeo di Design Italia, Ulises Mérida, had presented his first-ever solo catwalk collection at Madrid’s MFSHOW Women’s February, 2013 segment.
